Product Evaluation1st of March 2011- Appetizers - RICE PAPER ROLLS

food3.JPG

The finishing product of our appetizers dish was very satisfying. The taste of the rice paper rolls was fresh and definitely refreshed your pallet. The sticky rice paper roll complimented the sweet crunchy capsicum and cabbage. The citric lime juice and salty fish sauce gave a strong aromatic flavour which gave the moist chicken more taste. The translucent wrapping of the rice paper let you see the vibrant colours of the fresh vegetables. The glossy rice paper contrasts with the bright green parsley garnish. The smell of the rice paper roll was strong, pungent even. It was a sweet but sour Asian scent. Each individual roll was smooth but crunchy on the inside. The chicken was very tender, perfectly cooked with a moist texture. All of the fresh vegetables were crunchy, cold and crisp. The rice paper rolls were definitely a refreshing appetizer that was light and keeps the mouths wanting more.
I really enjoyed eating the rice paper rolls, they are one of my favourite foods. The roll was really flavorsome and visually appealing. The rice paper roll was very tasty and enjoyable. I could as many as i would like because they were so light and delicious. I also really enjoyed making them as they are super easy and really healthy.
I was really happy of how the rolls turned out. I do have to admit that i was scared they weren't going to turn out as good as they were because of that fact that we had to cook the chicken ourselves. But in the end the chicken turned out great! I was also worried that we weren't going to have enough time to prepare the rolls. They do take time and a bit of effort but we managed to do it in time!
To be honest i wouldn't change anything to make our rice papers rolls any better or worse. I maybe would have liked to make more or maybe share them with the class. I thought that we could have made some more fillings but we had the perfect amount of chicken.cdi504566.fig1.gif

The finishing product of our pumpkin and bacon pesto pasta dish was very enjoyable. The taste of the pumpkin, bacon and pesto really complimented each other. The smooth creamy pesto went well with the crunchy bacon and the sweet, salty pumpkin. The pasta was cooked to perfection and was soft. The overall taste of the pasta was sweet, sour, creamy and crunchy. It was a great combination. The bright green pesto really stood out with the orange caramelized pumpkin and the crispy bacon. The Parmesan garnish made the all of the colours really look fantastic. The smell of the pasta was beautiful with all the rich flavours. The caramelized pumpkin set off a gorgeous strong smell. The pesto pasta was a great Main and was a filling dish.
I really enjoyed my main meal as it tasted really great. I love pesto and pumpkin so much so this is why i picked the dish. It was also incredibly easy to make! Pasta is my favourite food also. The dish looked very appealing and was very tasty. I also really enjoyed making it as it was easy and healthy.
I was pretty happy with how the dish turned out. The quality of the food was very good! I thought that we would have enough time to do everything but the pumpkin took alot longer to cook then what we thought it would, so we were a bit behind but the pasta still turned out great!
The only thing that i would change with the pasta would be is to put the pumpkin in first and then start to cook everything else because it took a bit longer than we thought. I also think that pine nuts would taste really nice with the dish as they taste really good with pesto! But other than that i really enjoyed making the dish and hopefully will make it in the future!

The finishing product of our Herb Crusted Lamb with stuffed mushrooms and green beans was very very pleasing. The taste of the meat and the herb crusting was divine, it was crunchy and full of flavour. The soft, juicy mushrooms were cooked perfectly and were stuffed with tasty Parmesan cheese, bread crumbs and fresh herbs. The mushrooms were succulent and left you wanting more. The meat was cooked to perfection and really complimented the herb crusting. The green beans and flaked almonds really finished off the dish, leaving it with fresh juicy beans and the small crunch of the flaked almonds. The lamb cutlets left the kitchen smelling like the Parmesan and the fresh herbs. The mushrooms set off an earthy smell which really gets up your nose but is also very pleasing. I think that our main was very nice and was definitely a mouth pleaser.
I really enjoyed my main meal, it was definitely tasty and perfect for a dinner party. I chose this dish because we found it on master chef, Darci and i love master chef and we got inspired by it so we decided to look for a main meal. We chose lamb because it's easy to cook and we both liked it. The overall dish was very pleasing and i was very happy with the outcome.
The overall dish turned out pretty well and i was really happy with our choice of meal. It was great quality. We had plenty of time to finish our dish and it was really easy to make. So we didn't really have any problems, except i would've used grated Parmesan instead of shaved next time.
I wouldn't change anything in this dish because everything complimented itself, you could always serve the dish with different veggies or potatoes but thats probably the only thing i would change. I thought it was a great dish and it was super easy to make! Would be such a crowd pleaser.

Dessert- Passion fruit cheesecake
The finishing product of the Passion fruit cheesecake was a great success! The taste of the creamy sweet Philly mixture was smooth and really contrasted the fresh sour Passion fruit that layered the cheesecake. The fresh Passion fruit was sweet but sour and really matched the cheesecake mixture. The sweet nice biscuit base was crunchy and really finished off the cheesecake. The passion fruit was a glossy yellow and really made the cheesecake pop. The creamy mixture was white and contrasted with the brown biscuit base. The elements of the dish were layered and we presented the sweet dessert in a parfait glass which really gave a different flare of the dessert. The aroma of the Passion fruit was aromatic, fruity and sugary. We topped the dessert with a fresh sprig of mint which also made the dessert have a really aromatic smell about it. The overall dessert was served cold. The base was crunchy and really complimented the other elements in the dish. When all of the elements were put together it was soft, crunchy, smooth and moist. The dish was delicious and very very pleasing!
