The hommus had a strong flavour with an interesting, uneven texture. It did not taste too strong of garlic. The balance of the diffferent ingredients worked well together. The flat bread smelt very herby. They were golden brown and cooked just the right amount. It was served warm. I had been worried about the hommus overpowering the herbs in the bread, but they complimented each other nicely. The finished product presented well and it tasted great. i think that i will definitely make it at home for my family. The only improvement that i think could have been made would have been to make sure that the oven wasn't on so high so that the bread didn't get as dried out. This recipe was actually pretty simple. The only problem we encountered was when we were trying to get the blender lids to fit on. The bread turned out the way it was supposed to. the only alteration i would make would be to make the pieces of bread smaller and probably to take more time to make them neater circles. I feel that the food was of a very good quality and I would be happy to serve it to other people if I had the opportunity. Overall, the recipe turned out how it was supposed to and it was a very delicious appetizer that I think would be received well at a party of any sort.

Pesto Pizza 7/4/10 Partner: Sophie Ricca

I felt our pesto pizza was a great sucess. The pizza base was crispy but it could have been cooked a bit longer to make it golden brown. It was due to time constraints that we couldn't leave it in longer. The pizza was served warm. By using pesto on the base instead of tomato paste it created an interesting twist that really matched the whole "green" theme of the pizza. i had olives on my half which added a slight saltiness to the flavour. This mixed in with the caramelized onions balanced out both the sweetness and the savoury aspects of the overall taste. The tomato burst with a nice acidity when bitten and it also added some good colour to the pizza. The pizza not only tasted amazing it also presented quite well. An alteration the could be made would be to add chicken to the pizza. This is something that people who aren't vegetarian would enjoy. I was pleasantly suprised by the taste of it. I was thinking that the pesto would be too dry but there was actually just the right amount to keep but the pizza moist but not too much so that the base was soggy. We took a basic idea like a pizza, which most people like, and made it very flavoursome and different. I think it would be very popular especially with big family groups. It isn't hard to make and it can easily feed big groups.

Stuffed Chicken Breast with Rosemary Chips and SaladPartner : Sophie Ricca

This recipe was very tasty. it was also surprisingly easy recipe to follow. for such a simple recipe it was a very yummy meal. We cooked the chicken just the right amount so that it was still well cooked but moist instead of being too dry. The proscuitto added a salty flavour to the chicken breasts without overpowering it. our chips were crunchy and the rosemary added a nice aroma and taste to them. We made a simple but appetizing green salad. Each of these components of the meal complimented each other nicely. the chicken was soft, the chips and lettuce added a crunchy texture. The cherry tomatoes were sweet to bite into. The chicken breast filling was a smooth texture. We served the chicken and chips hot. One of the things i felt could be altered would the amount of filling. there could have been more to make it a bit of a stronger taste but this was only a minor thing that could improve the meal. It was definatley one of the more delicious meals we had made and i would definitely like to make it again.

Sticky Date Pudding

The sticky date pudding was amazing. It was sweet and soft in the middle. The outside was crunchy and the sauce was rich and thick. As the dates soaked in the boiling water, a sticky sort of smell rose from the bowl. The dates added a nice smooth texture to bite into. The pudding was moist and the caramel sauce made it extra soft. The sauce was not too sweet but it was enough to add to the dates nicely. The portion size was very good as they were pretty decadent and so one or two of those muffins were enough. When the muffins were brought out of the oven, they filled the air with their sugary smell. The mixture of that and when the sauce was poured over the top, made the muffins smell delicious and this added to the overall tasting experience.
